Infection Control and Risk assessment

Particularly at present, infection prevention and control is incredibly important as the risk of spreading infections is ever present. It is important that everyone knows the risks, how to stay safe and how to keep themselves and everyone around them healthy.

This three-hour online course, raises awareness of these issues by focussing on the three core areas of Infection, the chain of infections and hygiene.

Working at Height

Those who undertake the Working at Height e-Learning course will learn how to ensure their own safety in various situations. The course will also help employers satisfy the Working at Height Regulations 2005 (amended 2007).

Trips, Slips and Falls

The Slips, Trips and Falls e-Learning course will alert staff to the dangers of slip and trip accidents and raise awareness to dangerous everyday hazards that can be avoided to create a safer and productive workplace.

Time Management - This unit will enable the learner to understand time management skills and how to implement effective time management in own life, in the workplace in order to reduce stress, and achieve optimum productivity.

Decision Making

Different employers look for different things, of course, but decision-making skills are sought by virtually all companies, as we are faced with decisions, big and small, in the workplace every day. In general, applicants who can demonstrate an ability to identify all the options and compare them in terms of both costs and effectiveness have an advantage over those who can’t.

This unit will cover the following elements. Define the problem, challenge, or opportunity. Generate an array of possible solutions or responses. Evaluate the costs and benefits, or pros and cons, associated with each option. Select a solution or response. Implement the option chosen.

Problem-solving is in demand. It’s considered the top skill for success in the workplace and increasingly desired by employers. More than one-third of all jobs across all industries will require complex problem-solving as one of their core skills. This course will help learners to develop good Problem-solving skills and will cover. There are four basic steps in solving a problem: Defining the problem. Generating alternatives. Evaluating and selecting alternatives. Implementing solutions.

 Attitudes to employment unit – This unit has been designed to enable learners to gain an understanding of the behaviours, attitudes and attributes required for employment and to produce an action plan to develop themselves to meet those requirements.

It is aimed at those learners who are looking to enter employment or to embark onto an Apprenticeship programme. It could also be used to assist learners to develop an individual learning plan (ILP).

Managing severe bleeding sustained with cutting tools such as chainsaws, Treatment of amputations, Crush injuries and Casualties suffering from extremes of heat and cold This course provides trainees with the skills to preserve life until help arrives.

Delegates will have the necessary skills to be prepared for Medical Emergencies. The course content is flexible taking into account the needs of the students at all times.

Farm Health and Safety

Slurry risks, animal handling, falls, working at height and working with equipment machinery. Additionally, exploring other key risk areas such as the safety of the young and the elderly when on farms.

Comprehensive training covers; identifying the early warning signs of addictions, anxiety, depression, psychosis, self-harming, eating disorders, trauma and suicidal behaviour, intervention, signposting for professional help, self-awareness, coping strategies for individuals/families facing the impact of mental health. This course is tailored to address and promote the wellbeing of communities and future generations.

Paediatric First Aid

CPR, choking, unresponsive casualty, emergency management, burns, meningitis, bleeds, epilepsy, poisoning, bites, stings, anaphylaxis, sepsis, asthma, diabetics, foreign objects, eye injuries, head, breaks, joint and muscle injuries. Training incorporates both practical and interactive learning, ensuring confidence and ability to put theory into practice. Additionality, defibrillator training is provided as we recognise early intervention is vital. Statics show that defibrillator intervention increases survival rates from 6% to 72%.
